Did you know that our member portal includes a built-in direct messaging feature? This tool makes it easy to initiate conversations, facilitate deals, and network with other traders.

Initiating a New Conversation
Starting a conversation on Trade Network is straightforward and efficient:
Navigate to the Directory: Begin by visiting the 'Directory' tab where you can browse through a variety of listings from other members.
Initiate Contact: When you find a listing that interests you, simply click on the 'Request a Quote' button. This action serves as your initial step to engage with the seller.
Send a Message: The 'Request a Quote' feature allows you to quickly express your interest or ask detailed questions about the product or service. Click on the button to open up the message screen, and once you submit it, the member will receive your message immediately.


Messaging the Trade Network Office
Reaching out to our office for assistance is quick and easy:
Locate the 'Contact Help' Button: Look for this button in the top right corner of your screen and click on it to begin the process.

Send Your Message to the Trade Network Team: Once you click the button, a box will appear with the message, "Need Assistance? We're here to help."

This convenient feature ensures that you always have a straightforward way to get in touch with us, whether you need immediate assistance or have a general question about your account.
Viewing and Replying to Messages
Stay Informed with Email Notifications:
When a new message arrives, you’ll receive an email notification. This email includes important details about the message, ensuring you are informed of all communications, even when you are offline.

Accessing and Replying to Messages:
Log In to Your Account: Avoid replying directly to the email notification as it will not reach the sender.

Navigate to the Messages Tab:
Now that you are logged in, click on the "Messages" tab located within your account interface to see all your messages. Now, you can conveniently manage and reply to all your messages!
Tips and Best Practices
Ensure Message Delivery and Response:
Direct Follow-Up: If you do not receive a response to your message, there is a good chance that the recipient would love to trade with you, but they may not be aware of your message. In this case, an old-fashioned phone call or a direct email would be recommended! The messaging portal is a great tool, and the majority of TN members are active with using it, but not everyone check its.
Additional Messaging Tips:
Check Your Notification Settings: Ensure that you are receiving email notifications from Trade Network, and barter@tradenetwork.org is saved as a contact in your email client. This helps guarantee that you’re alerted immediately whenever you receive a new message, reducing the chances of missed communications, and important messages being relegated to spam.
Regularly Review Your Messages Tab: Make it a habit to check your 'Messages' tab frequently, even if you haven't received an email notification. This will ensure you stay on top of all communications and don't miss out on any opportunities.
Clear and Concise Messages: When sending messages, be clear and concise in your communication. This helps the recipient understand your request and respond more effectively.
